DSW Upgrade Kits

DSW upgrade kits based on the 11-megapixel and 16-megapixel Princeton cameras are now available.

The as-built 11-megapixel Dalsa-camera-equipped DSW700 (DSW700D11) can be upgraded to the 11-megapixel or 16-megapixel Princeton camera (kits 700P11 and 700P16).
All DSW600, DSW500, and DSW300 scanners can be upgraded to the full DSW700 specification with either the 11-megapixel or the 16-megapixel Princeton camera (kits 700P11 and 700P16).

For the DSW700, the 16-megapixel camera provides improved speed and scanning resolution. For DSW500/600 models, these upgrade kits provide a complete high performance upgrade to the DSW700 Princeton-camera specification.

1. With ERDAS technical field support approval, the larger Princeton 16-megapixel camera may be substituted for an additional cost to achieve the 700P16 performance in all legacy upgrades.

Monitors are not included in the standard kits, but there is an option to add a high-quality Eizo LCD display.

Performance

Performance improvements are guaranteed for all DSW serial number legacy models. Speed is significantly improved over first generation 700 models for legacy model serial numbers 330 or higher. The components in these upgrade kits will minimize system specific variability in performance and push reliability (as close as possible) to that of a new production model. Actual results are influenced by operator selected optical pixel size, the choice of b/w or color output, post processing options and stage maintenance. Past and present operational models, performances and upgrades are outlined below. Time estimates are given in minutes for 10-, 12.5- and 15-micron scanning of 228 mm (9-inch) square film format, based on typical upgrade results.
